JUNEAU — Dodge County is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Finance Director, Nathan Thiel. Approved by the County Board of Supervisors Tuesday evening, July 15, Thiel comes to county government from the City of Beaver Dam, where he most recently served as City Administrator.
“Nathan has an excellent track record as a proven public servant with a history of progressive experience in communities much like our own,” said County Administrator Cameron Clapper. “He joins us at an important time as we prepare for the 2026 budget, and his experience in that area will serve us very well.”
Thiel comes to the organization with a background almost exclusively in public administration and budgeting, serving cities and villages of all sizes. With an undergraduate degree in communications from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a master’s degree in public administration from Syracuse University, he is primed to take on the role of Finance Director. He will be an asset in our efforts as stewards of Dodge County’s financial resources.
“I am so excited to be a part of this organization of dedicated professionals, in particular, the whole staff and team has been welcoming and receptive,” Thiel said. “It is a great privilege to serve Dodge County in this role. I’m looking forward to contributing to our county’s future and success.”
County Board Supervisor David Guckenberger provided a voice of support in the board’s discussion of the confirmation Tuesday evening.
“I was blessed to participate in the interview of Nathan. I am quite happy to see him be here,” Guckenberger said. “I think he has plenty of qualifications, and he will certainly complement Cameron and Cameron’s responsibilities.”
Thiel’s appointment was unanimously approved.
